  1. Objectives:
    The general aim is to offer tools for the students to be able of:

    • communicating scientific knowledge more effectively (mainly writing/publishing papers but also delivering oral communications),
    • managing efficiently scientific databases,
    • using more professionally regular software to prepare scientific communications
       
  2. Programme topics:
    1. Introduction: relevance of scientific publications for research
    2. How to write and publish scientific papers.
    3. How to manage major scientific databases.
    4. How to use software of reference management
    5. How to use word, excel and power-point more professionally
    6. Research organization in Spain and in the EU
       
  3. Assessment:
    Course requirements include Participation in, and resolution of, class activities (25%) Generating and managing a personal database (25%) Preparing a draft paper as an exercise (25%) Preparing and presenting an oral dissertation (25%)
